The fire fuels mitigation along Lake of the Falls has been a success. We are awaiting final evaluation by the Colorado state forester who will then reimburse us for our portion of the grant. We plan to continue this project next year.
Funds are also available for individual land owners. Contact Jack Zeman for details. We only ask that you do any thinning of pine trees in the winter when temperatures will be below 32 for three consecutive days. Cutting in warmer weather encourages beetle infestations
