Dear ZHA Property Owner:

This letter is your notification and reminder of the 2010 Annual Meeting of the Zapata Homeowners Association.  The meeting will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Jim Jones’ residence at 214 Big Bear on the Subdivision.  The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.  The business meeting will be followed by a potluck picnic lunch.  The meat, drinks, and tableware will be provided by the Board of Directors.

At the meeting we have four board positions up for election (1 – 2 year term, 3 – 3 year terms).  Please consider helping your community grow by serving on the board.  If you are interested in running for a position, please contact Administrator, Cindy Chapman at 719-589-6770 or email to quiltlady1@q.com as soon as possible.  It is very important to fill these vacancies.

Also up for vote is a proposed change to the voting section of the Bylaws.  This change would allow us to be able to vote on matters that require a majority outcome to make a change (Covenants).  Currently, our highest voter turnout has been about 34%.

We are continuing to finalize a draft of new Covenants.  Some of the language is dependent on the outcome of our zoning application and court case over water.  We hope to bring the draft to a membership vote this fall or early winter.

A New Member Orientation will be given at 9:00 AM, prior to the Annual Meeting.  The purpose of this meeting is to acquaint new ZHA members with the governance of the Association and to welcome them to the Zapata subdivision.  Please RSVP by phone or email to Administrator by July 30, 2010 if you plan to attend this orientation.

There is one important item we need back from you by July 30, 2010:

PROXY assignment if you are unable to attend.  This proxy must be given to

an individual property owner who is a member in good standing

PROXY ASSIGNMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BY JULY 30, 2010 TO BE COUNTED.  SEND TO:
