At their March meeting, the members of the Governance Committee worked on a fine schedule. An important goal was to create fines high enough to be a deterrent, but low enough to actually be applied and accepted. The following possibilities were discussed:
1. Try to list all possible violations and assign a fine to each.
2. Group violations together by type of rule violated.
• Guideline violation $100 to $500
• Policy violation $500 to $1000
• Covenant violation $1000 to $5000
3. Group violations together by area impacted.
• Own property violation $100 to $500
• Neighbor’s property violation $500 to $1000
• Common property violation $1000 to $5000
These options will be reviewed by the committee for further discussion at the next meet-
ing.
