A monumental study about how your personal information is harvested to fund a variety of FREE online services is described in granular detail by Harvard Business School professor, Shoshana Zuboff. A YouTube video about her findings is an excellent, eye-opening introduction to what ordinary citizens are up against in this day and age. Check it out here and add your comments afterwards.

Google fined $5 billion for lying about it's privacy protection practices for individual users. One could ask why is it so difficult to find this important news on media outlets. Only one prominent media outlet has reported it yet it never appeared to land as a front page headline. Go figure...

Long suspected, Facebook's privacy assurances appears to be a dense, closely guarded smokescreen for it's real-world practices. Personally, I find the results of the study linked below to be two things: Stunning in scope and not at all surprising.

Excellent Ted Talk about how your cell phone tracks you. Do you really want the phone service providers to literally know everything about you?

Think about it; it's not at all unlike paying a peeping Tom to watch you 24/7/365 through your home's windows.
